Hobbies

Generally, my profession is my hobby; they are one in the same. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to do what I love—electrical engineering. From coding to hardware, I do it all. I chose this career because I wanted to work on everything that even remotely involves electricity. To name a few, I'm interested in:

In other words, if an electron is involved, I want to be too.

But I do have a few other hobbies that aren't directly related to electricity... Here's a few of them:

  1. Running
  2. Learning foreign languages
  3. Crocheting
  4. Dystopic movies

Projects

Nextcloud

I have made my own cloud (yes, like Google Cloud or iCloud). This was very challenging. I spent at least one year and persevered through at least 20 failed installation attempts until finally I understood enough about the technology to successfully administer my own cloud. The problems I experienced with this project are not unique—almost any tech project is fraught with challenges. But if you learn to enjoy the process, the journey is as fun as the destination.

Rover

In my course of study at ASU, I was required (they really had to bend my arm on this one 😂) to build a rover. It was similar to the ones NASA sends out—remote controlled via an infrared controller and sensor, equipped with a distance sensor and an Arduino for processing. I had the pleasure of leading a great team on this project, and we even entered a competition, which we won.

My Own Crypto Token

And finally, I minted my own crypto token on the Solana blockchain. Although I haven't added liquidity to it yet, I really enjoyed making it. It's called Elzcoin, and if you'd like a look at it, you can see it here on Solana Explorer.
